2010 All-School Reunion Committee

Aurelia Alumnus,

It’s time to renew old friendships; it’s time for the 2010 All-School/Community Celebration; it’s time for a great weekend of fun and reminiscing.

The festivities will begin on Friday night, July 16. Two dances are being offered this evening.   There will be a dance in the Community Center featuring big band music.  Charles Wharton has generously agreed to furnish the band for this occasion.  The dance will begin at 7:00 p.m.  There will also be a dance at the Aurelia Golf Course featuring Aurelia graduate Tony Bohnenkamp.  Tony’s music is geared toward oldies and modern music.  This dance will start between 8:30p.m. and 9:00 p.m.

On Saturday morning at the Aurelia Community Center, there will be a breakfast served from 7:30 to 9:00.   Lunch will also be served at the Aurelia Community Center from 11:00 to 1:00.

At 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 17th, the fun run/walk/bike ride will kick off Saturday’s activities behind the Aurelia school.  An open house will begin at 9:30 a.m. and will run until 1:30 p.m. with sign up in the school gym.  During this time, you can tour the school facilities and spend time visiting and renewing old friendships.  Refreshments will be available.

There will be a parade again this year starting and ending at the Aurelia School.  The parade will begin at 10:00 a.m.  Line up for the parade will begin at 9:30.  We encourage classes, organizations, families, etc. to have an entry in the parade.  We would like anyone wishing to participate in the parade to let us know, however we will accept any late entries.

While in town we hope you’ll stop in and see what our Main Street businesses have to offer, many of which are owned and operated by alumni.  Be sure to visit the Heritage Center at 228 Main and the Heritage House at 404 Main.

For those wondering what to do for supper, the Firemen will be serving a meal at the Community Center starting around 5:00 p.m.  The annual Firemen’s Ball will start at 8:00 with the band "Board of Directors" playing.

If anyone is interested in golfing, call the clubhouse at 712-434-5498 for rates. Weather permitting, the swimming pool will be open.

If you know of any past teachers’ addresses, please contact one of the committee members.  We would like to invite as many teachers as possible.
